What are pneumatic nailers for strip nails?

Pneumatic strip nailers are designed to increase efficiency and make the job easier. With an angled warehouse, they can even handle difficult-to-reach places such as corners, making you flexible in any construction job. Because there are multiple nails on a strip, reloading is kept to a minimum, allowing you to continue working for a long time without stopping.

What are the differences between strip nail nailers and coil nail nailers?

Both strip nail nailers and coil nail nailers, also called coil nailers, shoot nails. But then why would you choose one over the other? We explain the differences between these tools based on their properties. For example, generally speaking, coil nailers contain more nails on a roll. This means that you can continue working for longer without having to reload the nails. This increases overall productivity.

On the other hand, strip nail nailers are generally lighter in weight than coil nailers. These pneumatic nailers for nails on strip are equipped with an angled magazine and are not limited in the length of the mounting material as a coil nailer is. This means that the strip nail tacker is suitable for using long nails. The Bostitch BRT160-B-E nailer can shoot nails up to 16 cm long! The choice is yours.

BAT anchor nail tacker

A strip nail nailer with a specific application are the BAT anchor nail nailers. This tool is designed to secure BAT anchors, where the abbreviation BAT stands for Concrete Anchor Pull System. These tackers are indispensable for attaching BAT anchors (also known as beam supports or concrete anchor rods), which anchor structural elements such as beams, columns and walls to each other.

It is important to remember that specific BAT anchor nails must be at the same angle as the nailer, which is usually 33°. Some suitable BAT anchor tackers are the Bostitch MCN250-E and MCN150-E, as well as the Bostitch F21PL-E in combination with MCN-KIT3. The Bostitch MCN150-E is a compact and lightweight device with innovative features such as an open-point design, magnesium housing and single baffle.

Concrete tackers for powerful attachment of hard materials

But our concrete nailers also offer a solution for projects with hard materials such as steel, concrete, stone and (hard) wood. They shoot extra hardened strip nails, making them suitable for even the most demanding construction jobs. Their advanced mechanism ensures fast and accurate placement of nails, making work more efficient. In addition, the concrete nailers have safety features that prevent accidental discharge and are ergonomically designed for comfort during extended use.

Fastening material for tackers with nails on strip

Pneumatic nailers loaded with strip nails use nails connected via a strip. However, not every strip nail tacker is suitable for all types of strips. Therefore, consult the product description for the correct combination. There are three types of connections:

  • Wire welded: most common and produces no waste, but not suitable for every coating
  • Plastic bonded: suitable for any type of material, but leaves plastic waste
  • Paper-bound: ecologically conscious option, but less resistant to damp situations

The different shapes of the nail shaft

The nail shaft is a crucial element for bond strength and can take various shapes, including smooth, spiral, ringed or screwed. Each form has its own advantages and disadvantages and it is good to take this into account. This makes the smooth shaft a cost-effective choice. This nail shank provides basic bonding power, but is not as strong as the other options. For example, the structure of the spiral shaft increases the bonding force by wrapping wood fibers. Finally, ring shanks and screw shanks offer even more adhesive power, but the price is higher and they require more impact force.
