E Staple (90) SS - different lengths

Type 90 staples are suitable for a wide range of applications due to their width of 5.5 mm and the many variations in lengths from 10 to 40 mm. 
However, due to the relatively thick wire dimension of 1 x 1.25 mm, you cannot use them for a great many fastenings.
If you want to fasten something and do not know which staple length you need, you can follow the rule of thumb for most materials that the staple leg length should be
2.5 times the thickness of the material. In practice, this means that if you want to fasten a wooden plank or sheet material that is 10 mm thick, 
you need a minimum staple length of 2.5 x 10 = 25 mm.
